Anna McMichael

Biography

Anna McMichael was raised in South-Australia. She completed her first violin study in 1990 with the first prize in the final of the 'Australian Broadcasting Commission National Instrumental and Vocal Competition'. She recieved a so called Queen's Jubilee scholarship in 1993 with which she could study with Vera Beths in The Netherlands. Since that moment she performed with the Asko, Nieuw Ensemble, Schonberg ensemble, Maarten Ensemble,   and as a solist with Orkest de Volharding, London Sinfonietta, Remix Ensemble, Ensemble Modern and Muzik Fabrik. She is also a permanent member of the Xenakis Ensemble and the Francis B. Quartet. She was an assistent-leader for some projects af the Australian Chamber Orchestra and captain of a program with present day music of the before mentioned orchestra in 1996. She revieved the Special Violin Prize in the International Gaudeamus Vertolkers Concours in 1999.
